A violent assault occurred just after 1:00 p.m. at a residence along the Eastern Main Road, Barataria. Two men entered the yard and launched a coordinated attack on a male resident, using a shovel, a knife, and a piece of wood to beat and stab him. During the intrusion, a female relative was also shoved to the ground as the assailants forced their way onto the property. The victim sustained multiple injuries during the attack. Police are investigating the motive behind the assault and are searching for the two suspects involved.
