A 78-year-old woman was robbed after boarding a vehicle she believed to be a taxi at Isaac Street, near Subway in Couva, around 8:00 p.m. The vehicle was occupied by a male driver and two women wearing hijabs. The victim requested to be taken to Perseverance Road, Chaguanas, but upon reaching the vicinity of Milton Road and Basta Hall, the three occupants announced a robbery. The suspects stole the pensioner's handbag containing $600 in cash, her T&T identification card, a Republic Bank card, and a cellular phone. The elderly woman was then ordered out of the car, and a passerby later assisted her by providing transport to the Couva Police Station to report the crime.
