Officers from the Anti-Kidnapping Unit and other tactical teams discovered human remains at Riverville Trace, off Upper Dibe Road in St. James, while searching for kidnapped businessman Shashi Anand Persad. The body was located under two triangular pillars in a forested area around 7 a.m. During the recovery process, police discovered a Cemex T&T work identification card belonging to Winston Rostant, suggesting the remains are not Persad's. Rostant, a resident of Cap-de-Ville, Point Fortin, had been reported kidnapped alongside Junior Taylor on October 27, 2024, with a ransom demand subsequently made for their release.
