The North Eastern Division has recorded its first homicide of 2025 following the fatal shooting of 39-year-old Kegan Barbour. The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. on New Year’s Day at Barbour's residence on Laventille Road, San Juan. Reports indicate that a group of men breached the premises and opened fire on Barbour before fleeing the scene. This killing took place as the country remains under a State of Emergency, which was declared on December 30, 2024, to combat a surge in gang-related violence.
