A murder occurred at a shop on Rig Road, Chinese Village, La Brea, at approximately 1:40 a.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2025. The victim, 29-year-old Shaquille Daniel, went outside to investigate barking dogs when two armed men stormed the premises. One suspect wore a colorful mask, while the other had a white jersey wrapped around his head. While one gunman chased and robbed another occupant of a gold chain and band, a shot was fired. Daniel was subsequently found motionless on the living room floor with a gunshot wound to his chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
