A 30-year-old Couva resident was the victim of an online fraud and robbery after attempting to purchase a washer and dryer advertised on Facebook Marketplace as a Black Friday deal. Around midday last Friday in the San Juan area, the victim's relative handed over $5,250 in cash to a man who claimed to be collecting payment on behalf of the seller. After the money was exchanged, all contact with the fraudulent seller was lost.
