The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) seized an estimated TT$56 million worth of illegal cannabis in a major intelligence-led operation conducted on Thursday, December 11, 2025, in the Point Fortin district. Officers recovered 23 bales of marijuana from a remote, forested location off South Central Road, Cap-De-Ville, an area known for contraband and human-smuggling. Commissioner of Police Allister Guevarro stated that this seizure, along with a recent $117 million bust in the Caroni Swamp, means police removed 2.2 tonnes of marijuana from circulation within a 24-hour period. No arrests were made during the Cap-De-Ville operation.
