Stefon Ramlal was killed and Marc Reetoo was injured after two masked gunmen opened fire on a group at a camp located in the bushes off School Street, Esperanza Village, California. The victims attempted to flee into the surrounding vegetation, where the suspects spent a significant amount of time searching for them, leading nearby residents to mistakenly believe a police operation was underway. Marc Reetoo remained in hiding with a leg wound until Wednesday morning, at which point he discovered Ramlal unresponsive outside the camp. Police and emergency services arrived to find Ramlal, a resident of George Street, deceased at the scene, while Reetoo was transported to the hospital for treatment.
