A Venezuelan man was shot and killed during an exchange of gunfire with police behind a house on Francis Lane, Chase Village. The incident occurred after suspects involved in a Freeport robbery abandoned their vehicle and fled through residential properties, firing shots at pursuing officers. One suspect was confronted by police inside a yard and sustained fatal injuries during the shootout. He was transported to the Couva Health Facility where he was pronounced dead, while a search continues for his accomplices.
