Two men stole a silver Nissan Note, registration PED 3966, from its owner at gunpoint, triggering a high-speed police pursuit along the highway. The suspects drove the stolen vehicle westward along the shoulder of the eastbound lane before crashing near 19th Street and fleeing on foot. During the ensuing foot chase and exchange of gunfire, the victim was struck by a bullet while standing inside a kitchen.
