Around 5:30 p.m., a 37-year-old man was driving home in his white Nissan B14 when he stopped along the southbound lane of the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway near the Diamond Flyover. A white van stopped behind him, and two masked men claiming to be police officers exited the vehicle. The suspects dealt the victim several blows to his body before binding his hands with tie straps and covering his mouth. He was subsequently transported to Quinam Road, Siparia, where he was abandoned on the side of the road until he was rescued by police around 9:40 a.m. the following morning.
