A 27-year-old welder, Sanjeev Roopchan, was the victim of an attempted burglary and shooting at his home on Mohess Road, Penal, around 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2025. Roopchan was awakened by barking dogs and confronted three intruders in his yard. While Roopchan pursued them in his car, the suspects fired a shot at him near the Mathura Development Bridge. Police, with Roopchan's assistance, intercepted the suspects' getaway vehicle (a white Kia Optima) and arrested Anderson Taylor (28), Kerton Edwards (37), and Brandon Travis Khan (26).
