A 55-year-old Gasparillo man was severely assaulted while sleeping under a shed along Semper Street around 3:30 am. He was awakened by sharp blows to his left arm, realizing he had been chopped. The victim was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
