A coordinated search operation on Monday, December 22, 2025, led to the discovery of the body of 28-year-old Jamaal Jessop in a swampy area near the WASA compound at Beetham Gardens. Jessop, who was from Eastern Quarry, Laventille, and suffered from mental challenges, had been reported missing by his mother following reports that he had been shot and his body dumped. Officers from the TTPS and the Hunters Search and Rescue Team located the body, which bore multiple gunshot wounds. The scene was processed by homicide investigators.
